Phase one: finding topics of interest

Starting off at the very beginning if this Academic year we were tasked to take a look at four topics we were interested in and wanted to take a look at, a very nice and easy start to course and allowed us to take a more i dependent approach to the project we saw fit, this gave us much more creative freedom and allowed us to get a greater understanding of something we as people liked and enjoyed instead of all conforming to the same brief.

This allowed me to start out slow and allowed me to look at what i wanted, it allowed me to get engaged with topics i was more curious about and allowed me to bring my own creative spark. This gave me a lot of room to work with and more specifically gave me the seed to plant to then grow into further development for future phases

My four topics of cboice were, Mutation (more specifically zombies and how viruses and mutations spread and evolve), superheroes, what seperated the literal gods from those of humans with extraordinary skills, the edo period of japan and life through japans military dictatorship and mecha and military, learning how “mecha” have furthered our understanding of machines and how they have made a beneficial impact between military life and normal life

Though alot of the topics at hand were exceptionally imteresting i had already initially set my sights on working with machines, looking at mecha learning its very roots to further expand my knowledge of the subject and gaining a better foothold in this specific subject.

Though we did not have to do mucb research, picking out subjects we fou d fascinating to ourselves had really given me a lot of inspiration and motivation throughout the few weeks we were given to “complete” the task at hand, and will give me a better understanding of the people working alongside me with this first project, maybe allowing me to gain ideas or inspire others with the work that i show off and explore. Though only time will tell, but nonetheless, phase one of the project has given me an interesting and more specifically greater admiration for what a game can be and how they truly all start from humble beginnings
