Study of art styles pt.1

With the topic of aesthetics i had teamed up with another member who had previously worked on this before, Laura had helped to diecern a artstyle i should follow and work towards in making the atmosphere of my game feel welcoming and friendly and induce the feelings of openness and freedom, as well as defining color palettes to get the message across

She had suggested a few cel shaded games and specific screenshots to look at to get a better idea of where to start my journey on the idea of aesthetics. Specifically starting with the borderlands franchise and billy the kid

Immediately shows off all it needs to in a more simplistic and concise manor, with no need in ray tracing and no need for realism which gives the game its charm and character.

Looking relatively cartoony and rather comic books-esque, which would help to elevate the feeling of the game i want to create for the game.
