creatures, feedback and further development

as of the last few days i have been making the tamplates and the cards that would be used to play the game and add to the aesthetic to the game, which has been fun and interesting to say the least, i have been putting the templates and correct parts for the cards and making statistics as i have been moving on, slowly and effectively making the pieces slowly fall together and eventually feeling more and more productive with all of the work that i have been able to produce, but i must keep my wits about me as i must try and at least make a fully fledged and working game as soon as i can

working from home and not being able to work alongside a partner within normal hours has been difficult, but i have been working, making and creating non stop for the past few weeks, but feel that i could have done more and created a much better product and be more efficient if i was working in a studio, but aside from all that has happened as of 2020-21, its been nothing but inconvenience after inconvenience.

aside from this and the many shortfalls that i have encountered i have been trying my best to keep focused and get as much feedback and relevant feedback to something that could be somewhat viable.

i have talked to the year two’s as of yesterday and have had no questions regarding the game and how it would play, though having no actual game to playtest, though have positive feedback, which has given me more confidence with my work so far.

the same with the year 3’s, but i have been given little feedback from the previous show and tell, only given feedback on the colouring and using true black colours as well as dealing with colour blindness, mostly of the red and green kind.

though not much on feedback i feel quietly confident with the work that i have made so far

though there are many more types of cards that i have made but ithese are a few of them that are going to be used for the final product.

although i am using tabletopia for the protoype just to see how the game would look and all the custom dice and see how they would all fit together to see if there have been any discrepencies.

though it has been a major task, i will be setting aside a chunk of time to make a physical prototype with simple cards and simple statistics, a bare bones version of the cards but with only the relevant information to try and make all of the cards as quickly as humanly possible to be able to playtest and iterate, since there is not as much time as i would like

this will atleast allow me to make and have something to be able to show off when and if i am able to playtest with the other yr 3’s, hopefully being able too get a bit more feedback and be able to get some kind of overall idea of how the game plays out and the duration of the game itself

though there are a lot of other teams and a fair few people working alone, i do not like the fact that i have not had a prototype, unlike my peers

but that way of thinking is damaging and i have to do what i can to get the work done to the best of my abiilities and hopefully be able to show off all of the work that i have done as of the last academic year

though my thoughts and feelings are just that i have been working on creature designs that would fit the aesthetic of the game.

there has been no specific set of rules for the monsters that wanted to be made, only given a name and then concepted until satisfied with the product

it has been interesting to see how much time and effort it takes to create and making fully fledged artwork and a lot of it. but as mentioned i will be changing over to physical for the prototype, to be able to a make something that can be played and be able to learn the intrinsics as well as the ins and outs of the game that i want to try and create.

Sadly i had recieved not as much feedback as i would have liked, but it is not the end of the world, the year 2’s seemed to like the concept in question, though i hope that if i am able to talk to someone in the near future i can get a bit more feedback and continue to hone in and refine what i have already made
